My parent/relative is very contracted, how will you be able to get the exam? It seems impossible.
This is a very common situation. Our Technologists specialize in assisting the frail and elderly. We have many options including adjusting the angle of the machine, or use pillows to position the patient. Our goal is get the best visualization of the area while keeping our patient's comfortable. Our equipment is extremely flexible and versatile to allow exams on even the most difficult patients.
-
My parent/relative is often confused and sometimes uncooperative. How would you deal with this situation?
This is another common situation for our technologists. Everyday our staff successfully completes all exams, regardless of the patient's dementia, alzheimer's and psychological issues. This comes from being patient and truly patient focused. Our digital equipment is extremely fast. The patient does not necessarily have to stay still for the entire exam. In fact most radiographs are obtained using less than ½ second exposure time. Your loved one will be in good hands!
-
Are portable x-rays safe?
Yes. The radiation used to acquire a portable X-Ray, is extremely low, due to the state of the art digital system we utilize. The skin dose to the patient is the same as a hospital radiograph and in some cases, less. If your doctor has ordered a portable exam, then he/she feels the information gained from the radiograph far outweighs the minimal exposure to X-Rays.
-
